As part of a $1 billion global relaunch, Holiday Inn is incorporating energy efficiency lighting measures at its 3200 hotels that will save over $4 million annually.
The hotel chain is replacing existing signage incorporating neon and fluorescent lights with energy efficient, long-life GE Tetra LED lighting systems from subsidiary Lumination that will reduce annual maintenance costs by $3 million and energy bills by $1.4 million.
“We are replacing more than 9,300 signs across several countries, so the energy savings GE’s LED systems are providing is significant,” says Angela Brav, chief operating officer, North America, InterContinental Hotels Group.
